Eli Lilly and Company seeks an Engineer (R5-R6) to contribute to the formulation, process development, and control strategy of drug substances and drug products. Apply engineering fundamentals towards designing and optimizing continuous and batch drug product processes at lab, pilot, and manufacturing scales. Prepare manufacturing and controls portion of the IND/CTD and prepare information for annual updates. Develop risk assessments based on physical and solid-state properties, and develop pre-clinical, clinical, and commercial formulations. Author, review, or approve high quality technical reports and regulatory submissions. #LI-DNI
Position requires a PhD in Chemistry, Engineering, Pharmaceutical Science or a related field and 2 years of academic or employment experience with designing and optimizing continuous and batch drug product processes. Academic or employment experience must include a minimum of: 2 years of experience with powder feeding, powder mixing, wet and dry granulation techniques, encapsulation, tablet compaction, spray dry dispersion, hot melt extrusion, and tablet film coating; 2 years of experience utilizing and applying process analytical technologies to promote process understanding and control; 2 years of experience developing stage-appropriate process control strategies encompassing necessary aspects including equipment operation, automation systems, model-based predictions, and methods of data reconciliation; and 2 years of experience developing modernized processes for pharmaceutical powder formulations.
