Summary of Job Description:
The Finance Analyst will be responsible for a wide spectrum of responsibilities from FP&A, S&OP to Business Partnering and is a key strategic partner to the Intercontinental Commercial and Markets/Regions, in developing and supporting initiatives to consistently deliver on business objectives. Intercontinental Area spans geographically from Canada, Latin America, Middle East, Africa to Asia Pacific. This position provides excellent development opportunities, high level of interaction and exposure to diverse and dynamic markets across the global.
Major Responsibilities:
Financial Planning & Analysis Actuals and Forecasting Cycles (Flash/Plan/LRP/LBE)
- Consolidation of inputs from multiple stakeholders into Intercontinental Area submissions across all cycles - Actuals, Flash, Plan, Monthly Latest Best Estimates (LBE) and Long Range Planning (LRP), and ensure deliverables are aligned with guidance from International HQ.
- Cascade relevant guidance, provide support to Markets/Regions during each submission cycle.
- Prepare and design financial reports, dashboards, and delivery of real-time data. Communicate business results through high quality variance analysis and commentaries to Intercontinental management and International HQ.
- Actively identify trends, challenging forecasts, validate and monitor assumptions for each brand. Performs ad hoc analysis and forecasts for internal management team and external customers to support business initiatives and decisions.
- Provide ad-hoc finance sharing or business insights sharing, training and support on templates, system related matters and others to Markets/Regions.
Monthly Area Demand/S&OP Process
- Prepare S&OP/Demand deliverables, ensure accurate & timely submissions and preparation of presentation slides for S&OP reporting.
Business Support (Adhoc) Therapeutic Area:
- Develop excel deliverables and/or commercial models to support forecast assumptions. Provide analytics and relevant financial information to support business decision making, commercial strategies and resource allocations.
InterconHQ Budget Management :
- Lead and manage the planning cycles of Intercontinental HQ departments, including Latest Best Estimates/Forecast, Plan and Long Ranged Plan
- Manage and analyze monthly actual expense and Headcount reporting comparing them to benchmarks, Coordinate with and provide support to Intercon Area teams regarding their department and travel expenses, i.e. Prepare and manage a monthly travel budget report
- Prepare upload file for InterconHQ dataload into the planning tool
- Lead and manage Intercontinental Headcount transfers, Master data creation and/or amendments i.e. Cost Centers, Vendors, Purchasing Orders Approval matrix
- Prepare Journal entries (i.e. Open PO, Reclass) and Purchase Orders for Intercontinental HQ
- Incumbent needs to be well-versed in accounting processes i.e. Master data creation, PO creation and Journal entries processes, across the various markets where InterconHQ operates (> 35 markets). Lead and manage any discrepancies in accounting entries. Coordinate, answer accounting queries and support Intercontinental funded projects with markets, InterconHQ team(Medical and Commercial)
- Collaborate with multiple stakeholders such as Finance Shared Service, Finance Master Data and Procurement team to ensure Compliance with AbbVie Company policies
- Any other Adhoc requirement on Area HQ
Internal Controls & Adhoc Request :
- Ensure financial results are recorded in compliance with AbbVie financial policies and USA Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
- Enforce and enhance internal controls by providing guidance and counsel to markets and commercial staff in areas of Corporate Finance Manual (CFM) policies, divisional internal control procedures and International policies.
- Innovate and lead improvement projects related to financial reporting, financial systems, and processes.
Qualifications
Education/Experience Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting preferred and/or 4+ years of relevant experience in Finance or Accounting.
- Undergraduate Degree in a Finance related field, either Finance/Accounting.
- Minimum experience of >1 year in FP&A and/or Commercial Finance within the Pharma/Medical Device industry
- Excellent Excel (inclusive of Macros), PowerPoint skills and being conversant with various systems SAP, Hyperion, and BPC (Planning tool) and the various Microsoft applications.
- Experience with Power BI and RPA is a plus.
