The Position

This position has responsibility for the evaluation, maintenance and repair of all electrical systems and related equipment for the pharmaceutical production facility in support of a senior facilities electrician. Assists in the coordination and execution of facility electrical equipment improvement programs, provides input to SOP creation/modification, provide information as needed to address deviation responses. This position will work in accordance with established manufacturing practices and procedures, and compliance with GMP, QS, and ISO regulations and guidelines.

Essential Functions

  • Performs duties with the guidance and support of a senior Facilities Electrician and the Building Utilities Supervisor
  • Responsible for basic to intermediate maintenance and repair of the site electrical infrastructure. Develops a comprehensive understanding of the site infrastructure in support of a senior Facilities Electrician
  • Secondary point of contact with electrical utility for technical matters, primary contact in the absence of a senior Facilities Electrician
  • Under the Guidance of a senior Facilities Electrician coordinate and monitor the activities of outside contract vendors relative to Facilities electrical projects and related projects
  • Perform basic to intermediate troubleshooting and repair of facility electrical equipment and systems and key support equipment
  • Oversee, and direct vendor work for repair and maintenance of facility electrical infrastructure
  • Perform daily checks on all electrical utility systems
  • Initiate basic industrial electrical improvement projects to help maintain facility electrical code, and ensure safe operation of key manufacturing components
  • Secondary site contact for NFPA 70E
  • Assist in the maintenance of plant program to protect industrial equipment during power-outages, electrical surges, and brown-outs. Responsible for routine maintenance and emergency response related to emergency generators
  • Lay out electrical conduit runs, pull wire, and make electrical connections using electrical schematics as needed
  • Provide input to the creation or revision of standard operating procedures relative to facilities equipment and / or systems
  • Provide support to Facilities technicians in troubleshooting, repair and maintenance of electrical equipment and / or systems
  • Be available for occasional off hours support
  • Completion of all paperwork in a GMP compliant manner
  • Complete assigned work orders
  • Performs all job duties and responsibilities in a compliant and ethical manner and in accordance with all applicable healthcare laws, regulations and industry codes
  • Incorporates the Novo Nordisk Way and 10 Essentials in all activities and interactions with others

    Physical Requirements           

    The ability to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach, stand, and walk. The ability to push, pull, lift, feel, and grasp. The ability to speak, listen, and understand verbal and written communication. Repetition including substantial movement of wrists, hands, and or fingers. Lifting up to 33lbs/15kg of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Visual acuity to perform close activities such as: reading, writing, and analyzing; and to determine the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of work assigned or to make general observations. The working environment includes a variety of physical conditions including: noise, vibration, inside and outside conditions including temperature changes, extreme cold, and extreme heat; proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, working on scaffolding and high places, exposure to high heat or exposure to chemicals. The working environment frequently includes close quarters and narrow aisles or passageways. Local travel: 0-5%

     

    Qualifications

  • Education and Certifications:
  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • NH Journeyman License or the ability to obtain reciprocity for NH required
  • NH Master Electrician License or the ability to obtain reciprocity for NH preferred
