As a critical contributor to the field incentives team, you will have the opportunity to serve as the point person to business stakeholders, proactively recommending IC, contest, and award design strategies.
This role offers a unique opportunity to ensure alignment with brand and organizational objectives, collaborate with internal team members and vendors, and individually contribute to providing on-time, quality deliverables.
A Typical Day Might Look Like this:
Partner with internal clients to provide options and recommend field IC plans, contest, and award designs for BUs based on brand and field leadership objectives to ensure all plans are motivational, equitable, compliant, and fiscally responsible.
Develop innovative IC solutions to align with changing business needs.
Analyze IC and contest performance and conduct extensive modeling to provide appropriate guidance so stakeholders can understand the impact of their data-driven decisions.
By developing concise and easy-to-understand materials, this role will empower stakeholders with a clear understanding of the analytics and modeling results, fostering informed decision-making.
Develop communication materials for the BU to ensure a high level of field understanding of their IC plans, contests, and awards.
Effectively work cross-functionally to develop and communicate the IC calendar to ensure all stakeholders are aligned and accountable throughout the quarterly IC processes, from design to performance-tracking to payouts.
Partner with stakeholders, including Legal, Compliance, Finance, HR, Sales, Marketing, Advanced Analytics, and Data Management, to agree on timelines and deliverables and strategically align regarding IC philosophy and company objectives.
Establish and maintain strong governance structures for IC processes, policies, and business rules, leading the development of policy and guidelines as appropriate.
As an individual contributor, generate ad-hoc IC reporting as needed for field leadership to understand field IC performance.
This role will ensure the highest levels of operational quality, accuracy, and timeliness by providing project and vendor management expertise, including the development of SOPs, instilling a sense of reliability and trust.
This Position Might Be for You if:
Proficient in pharmaceutical field incentive compensation, acting as a subject matter expert for senior management.
Skillful in hands-on analytics with large complex data sets and visualizing and interpreting results.
Proficient in pharmaceutical sales data sources and suppliers across retail, accounts, specialty pharmacy, and market access, including Xponent, DDD, 867, and Hub data, among others.
Knowledgeable of both open and closed pharma distribution models.
Proven effective communication, simplifying complex data to stakeholders, and performing QC/validation of data as needed.
Capable of understanding the unique team and brand dynamics to craft tailored IC plan options for both existing and launch products, supported by comprehensive modeling, analysis, and simulation. This approach assists stakeholders in selecting and aligning on the most suitable solution through data-driven recommendations.
Experience with VBA, SAS, SQL, MS Excel, among others, for modeling/simulation and MS PowerPoint for presentations that incorporate a concise narrative that facilitates decision-making and enables stakeholder understanding of the implications of decisions being made.
To be considered you must have a bachelor's degree in business or quantitative field. Advanced degree preferred. Eight+ years of progressive experience in the pharmaceutical industry in field incentive compensation, field size/structure (alignments), targeting, call planning, sales operations, analytics, or data management. Four+ years of experience in Incentive Compensation design and delivery. Strong understanding of the pharma industry and industry best practices in all aspects of Incentive Compensation. Proven leadership skills, strong communication, and vendor management. This role requires a self-initiator with a strong work ethic. The successful candidate will be able to work with minimum oversight or guidance, taking responsibility for their work and driving their success. A high comfort level with ambiguity is paramount.
