Manager EHS Industrial Hygiene

In this role you will under the direction of the Director, Environment, Health and Safety (EHS), will have responsibility for supporting various requirements outlined in EHS programs. As a core member of the site EHSS team, will be expected to interact frequently with internal clients, be willed to take action, and be directly engaged in the operations of the facility. In addition to broad support of EHS Programs and Clients, this role will we directly responsible for managing Industrial Hygiene, chemical management, and laboratory safety programs at the site. This role will have great opportunities to make their mark establishing world class programs and opportunities to grow across all areas of EHS.
Primary Responsibilities:Implementation and/or management of the key industrial hygiene programs including:
- Exposure Risk Assessments
- Chemical Management and Hazard Communication
- Biosafety and Bloodborne Pathogens
- Respiratory Protection, Hearing Conservation and Personal Protective Equipment
- Non-ionizing Radiation
- Indoor Air Quality investigations
- Apply a Plan, Do Check, Act management systems approach to drive continuous improvement of assigned EHS programs and to achieve best in class performance
- Ensure regulatory compliance for all assigned programs and liaise with regulatory authorities as appropriate
- Implement robust compliance readiness and internal auditing programs
- Collaborate cross functionally and to influence management
- Partner with clients to advance safety culture and manage EHS risks
- Analyze metrics and establish annual action plans to drive continuous improvement.
- Establish and implement risk assessment plans for clients to ensure all risks are proactively addressed and control systems are implemented and maintained
- Ensure all changes with potential EHSS impact are assessed and controls are established prior to implementation
- Ensure all hazards are identified and risks are proactively assessed
- Establish safe work procedures for hazardous work
- Conduct regular inspections of the work areas
- Monitor incident trends and conduct incident investigations to implement robust corrective actions to prevent future incidents and injuries
- Conduct regular EHS management reviews with Client Leadership

Basic Qualifications:Doctorate degree
Or
Masters degree and 2 years of Environmental Health, Safety and Sustainability experience
Or
Bachelors degree or and 4 years of Environmental Health, Safety and Sustainability experience
Or
Associate degree and 8 years of Environmental Health, Safety and Sustainability experience
Or
High school diploma / GED and 10 years of Environmental Health, Safety and Sustainability experience
Preferred Qualifications:- Previous managerial experience directly managing people and/or experience leading teams, projects, programs or directing the allocation of resources
- Strong leadership and team building skills
- Ability to partner with and effectively influence staff and management
- Process driven with a strong Operational Excellence mentality
- Strong technical writing, communication and presentation skills
- Committed and self-starting
- Program development and project management experience
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and other computer software systems
- CIH (Certified Industrial Hygienist) and/or CSP (Certified Safety Professional) certification
- Experience in developing and implementing industrial hygiene programs and/or risk management programs in a biotech/pharma or related industry
- Knowledge of US and Local regulations as they pertain to pharma/ biotech operations
- Applied knowledge and understanding of EHS principles and best practices, regulatory standards, and requirements in context of business activities

The expected annual salary range for this role in the U.S. (excluding Puerto Rico) is posted. Actual salary will vary based on several factors including but not limited to, relevant skills, experience, and qualifications.
