In NC, we operate three pharmaceutical manufacturing facilities that are responsible for fulfilling different steps in our injectable and oral treatment supply chains.  Our newer Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (API) facility in Clayton, NC sits on 825,000 square-feet of state-of-the-art equipment, and houses the Fermentation, Recovery and Purification in the production of ingredients for Novo Nordisk’s innovative oral products.  At API, you’ll join a global network of manufacturing professionals who are passionate about what they do.

The Position

Ensure that employees always know what to do & when to do it, by converting long-term plans into detailed, but easy to follow production schedules. Work with employees to optimize production schedules so that capacity can be increased, quality & safety can be improved, without adding new employees.

Essential Functions

  • Work with the supply chain & maintenance planning departments to create an ‘easy to use’ detailed scheduling process for daily operations, covering all parts of the production & support processes
  • As the owner of the production scheduling process, execute this process daily & make continuous improvements
  • Ensure department can use SAP effectively during daily operations, & responsible for:
  • Setting TECO on completed process orders
  • Creating process orders in SAP (just as backup for planning)
  • Cancelling orders that have been sent to MES
  • Trouble shooting (SAP super user)
  • Deciding on the number of SAP orders needed for a week
  • Work with existing capacity model to support process engineers & management in identifying potential process improvements
  • Maintains & develops department procedures related to scheduling according to cGMP’s
  • Ensures effective communication with internal & external stakeholders
  • Implements LEAN tools & flow in the plant proactively; show a LEAN mindset
  • Creates supply chain process transparency through high quality communication

    Physical Requirements

    May move equipment &/or supplies weighing up to 33 pounds within the facility using various body positions. May be required to be on your feet for up to a 12-hour shift. May required corrected vision to 20/20 or 20/25 based on role. May require color vision based on role. May require the ability to work in loud noise environments with hearing protections.

     

    Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Management, supply chain management, engineering (any discipline) or related field preferred
  • Professional certification through APICS (CSCP or CPIM) or ISM (CPSCM) a plus
  • Prior experience in supply chain management & production planning in a manufacturing environment preferred
  • Project management related experience working on cross-functional teams preferred
  • Excellent verbal & written communication skills & good presentation skills preferred
  • High level of proficiency in MS Excel & material management systems required
  • Experience planning in SAP APO & ECC in a manufacturing environment (prefer GMP environment) preferred
  • Experience implementing SAP & master data knowledge preferred
  • Proven process improvement & problem-solving skills preferred
  • Demonstrated quality mindset & experience in a regulated quality environment a plus
  • Experience in LEAN manufacturing environment including implementation of lean practices a plus
  • Demonstrated understanding & capability in scheduling of multiple lines/multiple planning areas required
  • Ability to develop, manage & achieve action plans; good negotiation, communication & collaboration skills required
