The Opportunity

Avidity Biosciences is looking for an experienced FP&A leader who is proactive and a self-starter with advanced technical and communication skills.

Reporting to the Vice President of FP&A, the role will provide strategic thinking and leadership to the Commercial organization. For revenue and operating expenses, the role will be responsible for delivering budget, forecast, close, and long-range plan along with providing oversight of resource allocation, and options to maintain fiscal responsibility.

What You Will Contribute

• Work alongside Commercial organization to develop long-range plan, annual budget and quarterly forecast for revenue and operating expenses.
• Support the management of key financial processes such as close, forecasting, budgeting, and KPI reporting.
• Evaluate the financial implication of strategic choices and develop business cases for key investments.
• Serve as a strategic thinker and build trusting relationships with business partners.
• Collaborate with the leadership team to analyze risks and opportunities for the company.
• Author and deliver financial narratives and supporting analytics to support decision making on a regular and ad hoc basis.
• Monitor revenue and expenses against budget on a monthly basis and identify opportunities for investment optimization.
• Design, implement, and improve FP&A processes, adding structure to a growing FP&A function and inviting cross-organizational input.
• Deliver regular and timely financial analysis, insights and relevant commentary to the finance leadership team, executive leadership team and Board.
• Lead the selection and implementation of forecasting and business intelligence systems and tools.
• Lead improvements in automation of FP&A forecasting and business intelligence processes.
• Participate in contract discussions with suppliers and drive rate negotiations.
• Provide support in fund raising activities including facilitating investor due diligence and making recommendations for the terms that optimize both the investor and the company's position.

What We Seek

• 15+ years of experience in finance with focus on supporting a global Commercial organization.
• Proven financial analysis and revenue forecasting background for pre-commercial and commercial programs.
• The role requires comfort with ambiguity, collaborative problem-solving, and the capability to manage complex work streams with multiple stakeholders
• The successful candidate will have a proven track record and be able to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
• Management track record of hiring and developing talented staff.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to support a growing business.
• Ability to work cross-functionally, with a variety of internal and external stakeholders.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision on individual assignments, with the ability to prioritize activities efficiently.
• The ability to function in a rapidly growing environment and demonstrate creativity, select ability, and innovative strategies pertaining to all financial matters is essential.
• The ability to provide the senior executives with the necessary financial and modeling information to make effective decisions.
• A track record of outstanding financial management skills including accounting, financial reporting, and controls.

• The base salary range for this role is $241,400 - $266,800. The final compensation will be commensurate with such factors as relevant experience, skillset, internal equity and market factors.
