In NC, we operate three pharmaceutical manufacturing facilities that are responsible for fulfilling different steps in our injectable and oral treatment supply chains.  Our newer Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (API) facility in Clayton, NC sits on 825,000 square-feet of state-of-the-art equipment, and houses the Fermentation, Recovery and Purification in the production of ingredients for Novo Nordisk’s innovative oral products.  At API, you’ll join a global network of manufacturing professionals who are passionate about what they do.

The Position

SME & process lead over Maintenance Spares Warehouse & the SAP MM module for DAPI US.

 

Relationships

Manager, Planning & Reliability Engineering.

 

Essential Functions

  • Work with materials team to develop, execute & continuously improve all processes within maintenance spares area. Make recommendations to management & act as project manager over improvement activities
  • Represent DAPI-US in global process groups on discussions related to maintenance materials & SAP. Propose & drive process improvements in SAP MM configuration at the corporate level
  • Develop SOPs & deliver training to ensure all users are properly trained in system functionality & business use expectations & monitor day to day process performance
  • Establish master data governance & ensure data integrity of material data
  • Extract/load data from/to SAP & perform complex analysis of parts data (excel / access) to support business needs. Areas of focus are risk-based stocking, ABC Analysis, determining usage rates/setting reorder points, determining economic order quantities, Metrics, etc.)
  • Develop relationships with vendors, source & purchase parts to drive reductions in cost & lead-time
  • Develop & maintain a strategic partnership with maintenance, reliability, planning & operations to ensure site goals are achieved
  • Ensure effective communication & positive working relationships with key stakeholders
  • Drive continuous process improvements using cLEAN®, Six Sigma &/or Reliability Engineering principles

    Physical Requirements

    Moves equipment &/or supplies weighing up to 33 pounds within the facility using various body positions. Routinely operates & inspects manufacturing equipment using hands. Strap & unstrap pallets using hands. Must be able to remain in a stationary position (sitting and standing) 50% of the time. May require corrected vision to 20/25 based on role. May require color vision based on role. Handles transport of hazardous materials. Occasionally performs critical job functions in extremely cold work environments. Ability to work in loud noise environments with hearing protection. Able to pass a driving exam for powered industrial trucks. Does not require a valid driver’s license.

     

    Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business or related field; or equivalent combination of education & experience preferred
  • Certification/extensive proven experience in SAP MM & PM & Master Data Management preferred
  • Minimum of seven (7) years of experience in Materials Management field required
  • Minimum of five (5) years of SAP (MM & PM) master data management experience related to maintenance operations required
  • Expert in SAP MM & PM database structure & system capabilities required
  • Demonstrated experience in implementing cross functional / team-based improvements & knowledgeable with change management fundamentals required
  • Highly competent in developing advanced excel/access application required
  • Knowledgeable in pharmaceutical process equipment & utility systems preferred
  • Demonstrated knowledge of CMMS - SAP PM & MM modules required
  • Demonstrated experience benchmarking & driving improvements using Reliability, cLEAN® or Six Sigma tools preferred
  • Experience in project management, change management, & stakeholder management preferred
  • Creation of work plans for low to medium complexity projects/plans being executed by cross functional teams preferred
