Position
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Engineer 1 with expertise in Microscopy to join our dynamic team at the forefront of the biotechnology field. As an Engineer 1, you will play a crucial role in advancing our research and development efforts by contributing to the design, implementation, and optimization of cutting-edge microscopy technologies. About You
The ideal candidate for this role is an accomplished and visionary leader in the field of microscopy. They should have a proven track record of strategic planning in microscopy, ideally within a research-intensive environment, and possess expertise in various microscopy techniques, including confocal microscopy and super-resolution imaging. Proficiency in image analysis, data processing, quantitative analytical tools, and a deep understanding of the biological applications of advanced microscopy are essential. Strong leadership, communication, and collaboration skills, coupled with analytical and problem-solving abilities, are crucial for success in this role. The ideal candidate should have experience optimizing complex microscopy instruments and a commitment to upholding safety standards, compliance, and best practices within the microscopy laboratory, as well as an enthusiasm for driving innovation and excellence in a dynamic research environment.
What You’ll Do
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and optimize microscopy techniques for visualization and analysis of biological samples.
- Design and implement experiments using a variety of microscopy techniques to support research and development projects.
- Maintain and troubleshoot microscopy equipment, ensuring optimal performance and accuracy.
- Analyze microscopy data and contribute to the interpretation and presentation of results.
- Stay up-to-date with advancements in microscopy technology and recommend new tools and techniques to enhance research capabilities.
- Contribute to the development of standard operating procedures (SOPs) and protocols for microscopy-related activities.
- Participate in team meetings, share findings, and contribute to the scientific discourse within the organization.
- Collaborate with colleagues to contribute to the success of multidisciplinary projects.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Biophysics, Biology, or a related field preferred.
- Strong understanding of various microscopy techniques, including but not limited to confocal microscopy, fluorescence microscopy, and live cell imaging.
- Proficiency in data analysis and image processing software.
- Experience with maintaining and troubleshooting microscopy equipment.
- Solid understanding of biology and the biological applications of microscopy.
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Adaptability and willingness to learn and implement new techniques.
- Prior experience in a biotechnology or life sciences setting is a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Commitment to maintaining a safe and organized laboratory environment.

The expected salary range for this role is $96,000 to $104,500 depending on skills, competency, and the market demand for your expertise.
