Organization Overview: 

Organizational focus on leading the Supply Chain Business Unit for US markets and interface with commercial organization for demand planning, lifecycle planning, and customer services for domestic operations; Oversee global product implications in collaboration with IBU leader.

Role Overview:

Associate Director for US Demand Planning to be responsible for forecasting demand and strategically planning for pipeline and clinical assets, ensuring efficient and seamless supply chain operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage US Commercial and Non-Commercial Demand Forecasting
    • Lead manufacturing team review of demand forecast for commercial and non-commercial assets, including clinical finished stock demand, samples, registration sample needs from US stock and donations needs.
    • Improve accuracy of demand forecasts for non-commercial clinical/pipeline assets based on historical data, market trends, inputs from relevant stakeholders.
    • Identify forecast drivers and signals to improve the overall accuracy for new and existing products for the therapeutic area based on historical data, market trends, and input from relevant stakeholders.
    • Collaborate with commercial teams to align on allocation rules and customer/order prioritization in the event of constrained supply.
    • Collaborate with Global Supply Chain Product/Launch Leaders/clinical/commercial supply chain teams to gather information that influences demand projections.
    • Establish exception management processes to troubleshoot non-commercial demand planning related issues & escalations.
    • Collaborate with Global Supply Planning functions for alignment and build consensus on non-commercial forecast to balance supply with demand.
    • Provide inputs to enhance and improve demand planning processes and systems.
    • Manage project resources and budget to meet business goals.
    • Lead/collaborate functional objectives in IBP (integrated business planning) implementation, act as a core team member to determine design principles and orchestrate strategy/process.
       
  • Analytics and Reporting
    • Establish & monitor KPIs for non-commercial demand planning processes.
    • Utilize advanced forecasting tools and methodologies to refine and improve accuracy over time.
    • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to communicate demand forecasts, inventory levels to US supply chain lead.
    • Responsible for leading functional performance reports and driving corrective actions to improve global supply chain performance.
    • Provide inputs to Integrated Business Planning and Global Supply Planning on risks and opportunities.
    • Implement best practices to keep up with industry trends and innovations in demand planning and supply chain management.

Leadership:

  • Foster a culture of high performance to meet agreed objectives and deliver best practice results.
  • Report achievement of targets to leadership and identify corrective actions to resolve complex issues.
  • Provide guidance for development to the team and cross-functional partners.

Basic Requirements: 

  • Bachelor's degree plus 10+ years of experience in business, supply chain management, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in demand planning, preferably in the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry
  • Commercial and financial awareness with Project management skills (PMP Certified preferred)
  • Six sigma green / black belt with relevant experience
     

Additional Skills/Preferences:

  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in data analysis and forecasting tools
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across functions.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and precision.
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements and compliance in the pharmaceutical industry
