The Position

This position is responsible for leading the management of systems and processes needed to engage US HCPs for Speaking, Consulting, Advisory, and Authorship services and provides primary oversight and accountability for HCP Transactional spend data capture and delivery to the compliance organization. This position manages and iterates all systems and processes to review/reconcile/remediate all HCP Transfer of Value data for all Novo Nordisk therapeutic areas and will oversee the operational processing of Globally initiated HCP Spend data generated from utilization of US HCPs for contracted services. This role will be accountable for yearly HCP TOV data reporting timeliness and accuracy and will have oversight to identify and implement system and process enhancement that will result in more efficient and accurate US HCP spend reporting.

 

Relationships

Reports to the Peer to Peer Tech & Innovation Strategist and interacts with all NNI Therapeutic Area Marketing functions, as well as NNI Medical, Managed Markets, Corporate Communications and Public Affairs, Regulatory, Sales Execution, Commercial Effectiveness, Compliance, and Legal. Will also interact with NN A/S, and outside organizations. The position will also interact with other NN affiliates such as NNRCS or other NN Affiliate countries around the world. Additionally, this role will have direct written and verbal communications to external stakeholders such as Local/Regional/National KOLs and Health Care Organizations (HCOs) such as Hospitals and/or leading Academic Institutions. This role will also have intermittent interaction with senior leaders (VP and ET Members).

 

Essential Functions

  • Budget Management:
  • Facilitate/enhance budget processes that allow for the accurate payment for HCP services from the Global and affiliate organizations
  • Manage IT/Process enhancement project budgets as needed
  • HCP Compliance:
  • Lead role in the daily facilitation and management of all reportable transfers of value to contracted HCPs for the Commercial organization
  • Define, implement, iterate, and disseminate regular Program Closeout Reporting that communicate progress towards identified efficiency and quality metrics
  • Implement, iterate and maintain all HCP Transfer of Value training material for NN employees, HCPs, and Third-Party Vendors
  • Establish and manage HCP spend escalation processes for Legal, Compliance, and Management for issues resolution
  • Lead support/delivery of required information needed for NNI and NN A/S Audits and define and manage all system/process remediations as needed
  • Implement changes to workflow that will improve system usability and reduce data entry error while enhancing overall compliance and increase efficiency of overall Nov Nordisk State and Federal Reporting requirements
  • HCP System:
  • Lead, manage, and report to Leadership on outcomes of all quarterly HCP engagement system data ties outs between various HCP systems that facilitate HCP TOV and Compliance Reporting system
  • Define and implement ongoing KPIs to monitor progress against operational goals and identify additional areas of improvement
  • Identify and implement system and process enhancements that will improve Internal/External feedback scores, reduce overall contracting cycle time, reduce data entry errors, improve program close out and issue remediation timing
  • Leads the development, implementation, and management of all future payment recording related systems and processes for Speaker/Advisors/Consultants/Authors
  • Identify other business areas with similarities/synergies where expansion of current support model could drive greater enterprise efficiency and define future state approach
  • Manages vendor to provide a User Training Manual to support training activities and update as necessary as the tool evolves
  • Define and implement new approaches to system support and Training that simplifies material and capitalizes on new approaches to training in a highly digital enabled world
  • Deliver updates to NNI and Global Leadership Teams on system/process performance with identified focus areas and plans/timelines to capitalize on opportunities
  • Lead Organization Change Management efforts related to updates to US HCP Engagement systems, processes or policies across the organization including internal and external stakeholders
  • Health Care Professional Management:
  • Responsible for review, management and remediation of all HCP spend data including Fee for service payments, travel related expenses, and meal expenses
  • Serve as the main conduit between Novo Nordisk, third party Vendors and HCPs related to all HCP spend reporting for HCPs contracted as Speakers, Consultants, Advisors, and Authors
  • Assists in preparing responses to HCPs who have questions and/or challenges related to Novo Nordisk HCP Spend data published to the public through required yearly CMS reporting
  • Identify system and process enhancements that will simplify HCP user spend data entry while also improving data quality and reduce rework for the HCP

    Physical Requirements

    Hybrid model: 3 days in office and 2 days remote.

    0-10% overnight travel required.

     

    Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s degree required
  • 5+ years of marketing and/or operations experience, with at least 2 years in the pharmaceutical Industry, demonstrating a steady career progression with increasing roles of responsibility required
  • Proven experience with HCP/HCO payment systems and processes and an understanding of CMS HCP payment Reporting requirements
  • Extensive knowledge and experience in designing and implementing project plans
  • Planning, Execution and Follow-Up- effectively prioritizes and spends his/her time and the time of others on what is important. Develops accurate short- and long-term plans, forecasting and business analysis. Ensures timely execution and follow-up. Meets deadlines. Anticipates problems and roadblocks to avoid crisis management
  • Some technical experience in the support and management of a Windows based hosting environment. Technical experience in implementing and managing US Health Care Request management web-based tools and database management sites
  • The ability to think analytically, evaluate data and develop programs to test the effectiveness of tactics
