Job Description

The QTAS Department within AbbVies South San Francisco location is seeking a highly motivated scientist to lead the creation and implementation of flow cytometry (FACS) based pharmacodynamic cell-based assays that promote the development of novel therapies from the bench to the clinic. The desired candidate will work in a highly collaborative environment with the overall objective to incorporate emerging technologies and cutting-edge data analysis tools. In turn, these high-quality cell-based biomarker approaches rapidly inform on biomarker strategy in the preclinical and early clinical trial setting and directly impact phase I clinical dosing decisions.

  • Work as part of a highly collaborative interdisciplinary team in an integrated early drug development laboratory.
  • Conduct laboratory studies in support of biomarker/diagnostic strategy development.
  • Design, implement and monitor FACS derived biomarker and diagnostic testing as well as data collection in early pre-clinical and clinical trials.
  • Interact with cross-functional teams to establish productive collaborations.

Qualifications
  • BS or equivalent education with typically 0-3+years of experience or MS (no additional experience)
  • 1-2 years of flow cytometry experience at a pharmaceutical and/or biotechnology industry preferred.
  • Experience with BD instruments (i.e. Fortessa, Symphony) or Cytek Aurora is a plus.
  • Experience with staining blood cells (human and cynomolgus) or cell lines.
  • Basic knowledge in Immunology and of various immune cell populations is a plus.
  • Able to handle multiple projects and highly attentive to details.

Position will be hired based on level of experience.

The compensation range described below is the range of possible base pay compensation that the Company believes ingood faith it will pay for this role at the time of this posting based on the job grade for this position. Individualcompensation paid within this range will depend on many factors including geographic location, and we may ultimatelypay more or less than the posted range.
