Job Description

Job Title: Maintenance Technician III

Location: Brooklyn Park, MN

About the role:

As the Maintenance Technician III, you will perform daily checks and maintenance on facility equipment and systems, while adhering to cGMP standards and corporate safety policies. You will perform operation and maintenance of f plant utility systems under the direction of the Facilities Supervisor in a rotating shift environment.

How you will contribute:
  • Performs corrective maintenance and routine preventative maintenance on facilities equipment following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) as necessary. Completes work orders, logs and forms following cGMP documentation practices.
  • Responsible for operation and maintenance of plant equipment, including but not limited to, high pressure steam boilers; chillers; heating/cooling air handling units; process waste treatment systems; CIP equipment; water purification system (water softening and carbon bed filtration, reverse osmosis equipment, continuous deionization equipment, sanitary pumps, multi-effect distillation equipment); tank mixers; air compressors and dryers; and chilled water distribution systems.
  • Specify and complete vendor search for electrical, mechanical and piping materials as necessary to fabricate and install modifications and/or complete repairs on aforementioned equipment; provide maintenance services and technical assistance, as needed, to all departments.
  • Respond to service calls and conducts repairs throughout the facility.
  • May act as a team leader when multiple technicians are providing maintenance services to another group.
  • Performs additional tasks and duties as assigned.

What you bring to Takeda:
  • Must possess or have the ability to obtain a State of Minnesota, “1st Class” High Pressure Boiler Engineer License.
  • Two-year certificate in a technical field such as HVAC, building trades or building utilities program, or equivalent military experience is preferred
  • 5+ years of maintenance experience preferred
  • Can read and understand technical manuals and wiring schematics
  • Experience troubleshooting control circuits and basic pipe fitting skills.
  • Must have good customer service skills and promote a teamwork environment
  • Can work on projects or assignments that are moderately complex in nature where judgement is required in resolving problems.

Important Considerations

At Takeda, our patients rely on us to deliver quality products. As a result, we must follow strict rules in our manufacturing facilities to ensure we are not endangering the quality of the product. You may:

  • May wear personal protective equipment (PPE) and other clean room garments daily. This may include safety shoes, safety glasses, aprons, face shields, lab coats, full body gowns, hair nets and gloves and hearing protection.
  • Need to remove all make-up, jewelry, contact lenses, nail polish and artificial fingernails while in the manufacturing environment.
  • Work in a cold, wet environment.
  • Work multiple shifts, including weekends, or be asked to work supplemental hours.
  • Work around chemicals such as alcohol, acids, buffers and Celite that may require respiratory protection.
  • Will move throughout the facility as dictated by the essential functions of the position
  • Requires climbing of stairs, ladders, and use of telescoping lifts
  • Occasionally will be required to lift up to 50 pounds (i.e. Bags of water softener salt pellets once per month)
  • Will be assigned to a shift rotation in support of 24/7 plant operations that may require day, evening, or night shifts that will include weekend work.
  • Will be required to work in a clean room environment and wear special garments.
  • Daily routine will also require personal protective equipment (e.g. hard hats, safety shoes, safety glasses, ear plugs) due to safety requirements in specific areas.
  • No travel expected with this position.

U.S. Hourly Wage Range:

$26.92 - $42.31

The estimated hourly wage range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual hourly wage offered may depend on a variety of factors, including the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.The actual hourly wage offered will be in accordance with state or local minimum wage requirements for the job location.

U.S. based employees may be eligible for short-term incentives. U.S.based employees may be eligible to participate in medical, dental, vision insurance, a 401(k) plan and company match, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, a tuition reimbursement program, paid volunteer time off, company holidays, and well-being benefits, among others.
