OBJECTIVES:

Multifaceted role for accomplished pharmaceutical professional with both strategic and tactical financial experience. The Senior Director Strategic Finance directs and executes strategic portfolio projects that help shape the future of Takeda:

  • Translate financial data into actionable portfolio insights consistent with R&D and Corporate objectives and strategy
  • Evaluate strategic portfolio options and present recommendations to senior management, gaining alignment on strategic rationale, understanding of risk/benefit, and go forward process
  • Generate insights into performance in comparison to industry benchmarks
  • Deepen the strategic impact of the Portfolio team and the broader Global Portfolio Strategy (GPS) group elevating the level of decision-making support

ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Lead strategic financial scenario planning for the portfolio: analyze financial data, create financial models, and drive key business initiatives
  • Drive overall ways of working to ensure close coordination of relevant activities between GPS Strategic Finance, TAU Finance Business Partners, and Global Finance including communication to key stakeholders
  • Develop long-range portfolio cost forecasts in coordination with TAU Finance Business Partners
  • Manage and influence key stakeholder relationships (GBD, Commercial, TAU, senior leadership) that are critical to achieving R&D objectives
  • Lead, develop, and present materials for projects evaluated at key governance bodies (RMC, PRC, TET, BOD)
  • Work closely with RSEI and Global Finance leaders to lead communication of R&D financial outlook and influence R&D portfolio strategy
  • Develop and maintain key relationships across a broad sphere of influence, both internally and externally

EDUCATION, BEHAVIORAL COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS:

Education & Experience

  • MBA preferrable
  • 10-12 years + finance experience working in pharma industry
  • Strong financial planning, modeling capabilities, presentation, communication, and analytical skills
  • Comprehensive understanding of the pharmaceutical industry
  • Experience leading and working with cross-cultural teams.
  • Experience in supporting Value Based Healthcare

U.S. Base Salary Range:

$205,100.00 - $322,300.00

The estimated salary range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual base salary offered may depend on a variety of factors, including the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.The actual base salary offered will be in accordance with state or local minimum wage requirements for the job location.

U.S. based employees may be eligible for short-term and/or long-termincentives. U.S.based employees may be eligible to participate in medical, dental, vision insurance, a 401(k) plan and company match, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, a tuition reimbursement program, paid volunteer time off, company holidays, and well-being benefits, among others. U.S.based employees are also eligible to receive, per calendar year, up to 80 hours of sick time, and new hires are eligible to accrue up to 120 hours of paid vacation.
