OBJECTIVES:- Modernize, digitize and optimize Takeda R&D Laboratories.
- Collaborate with scientists, research and lab operation staff and external partners to understand challenges and identify/prioritize opportunities for improvement.
- Accelerate drug discovery and development by automating workflows and establishing seamless acquisition and utilization of data.
- Collaborate with scientists, engineers, global IT and other business stakeholders to understand, refine and document requirements and create design specifications.
- Build strong relationships with both R&D and other IT functions by acting as a point of escalation for complex non-routine problems.
- Pursue proof-of-concepts and prototypes to explore new technology and process improvement ideas.
- Provide technical direction and expertise for integration of laboratory systems with existing informatics platforms, such as LIMS (Laboratory Information Management Systems) and ELN (Electronic Lab Notebooks).
- Provide general technical support of system/instrument integration activities.
- Lead regional implementation support for global digital laboratory initiatives.
- Support continuous improvement of technology solutions by developing a deep understanding of our application landscape and business strategies.
- Evaluate third-party software, hardware and service providers as part of ongoing system maintenance and enhancement plans.
- Create, update and maintain system configuration and documentation.
- Attend relevant lab systems, IT and laboratory automation conferences.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 8 years of experience in laboratory automation, robotics, or related fields within the pharmaceutical industry.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as C#, Python, Java, or C++.
- Experience with relational databases and SQL (Oracle, SQL Server).
- Experience with laboratory automation platforms, instruments and software (e.g., HighRes Biosolutions, Green Button Go, Beckman Coulter, Tecan, Hamilton).
- Strong understanding of laboratory processes and workflows in pharmaceutical research and development.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work in multidisciplinary teams.
- Strong hardware and software troubleshooting skills.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements and quality standards applicable to laboratory automation (FDA, GxP, etc.).
- Experience with cloud-based computing environments, especially AWS platforms and capabilities.

Boston, MAU.S. Base Salary Range:
$149,100.00 - $234,300.00The estimated salary range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual base salary offered may depend on a variety of factors, including the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.The actual base salary offered will be in accordance with state or local minimum wage requirements for the job location.
U.S. based employees may be eligible for short-term and/or long-termincentives. U.S.based employees may be eligible to participate in medical, dental, vision insurance, a 401(k) plan and company match, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, a tuition reimbursement program, paid volunteer time off, company holidays, and well-being benefits, among others. U.S.based employees are also eligible to receive, per calendar year, up to 80 hours of sick time, and new hires are eligible to accrue up to 120 hours of paid vacation.
