Job DescriptionObjectives:
- Provide strategic and operational leadership to ensure successful planning, implementation, and execution of Patient Access programs.
- Oversee the development of the strategy for the planning, coordination, and execution of Patient Access programs and initiatives.
- Build awareness, engagement and support for patient access programs and initiatives across the organization.
Key Accountabilities:
- Oversee and lead strategic and operational activities related to the planning, coordination, and execution of expanded access programs and initiatives.
- Provide oversight of assigned team members, strategic partners, and vendors to ensure seamless implementation and execution of Patient Access programs and initiatives.
- Oversight of budget planning for Patient Access programs.
- Ensure Patient Access reporting and transparency to key internal and external stakeholders as required/needed.
- Build and execute communication strategy and plan to ensure awareness and understanding of patient access related programs, policies and SOPs within Takeda.
- Support the Head of Patient Access on key strategic initiatives or through delegation of responsibilities as needed.
- Represent Patient Access in cross-industry, multi-stakeholder forums, initiatives and collaborations related to patient access.
- Serve as an internal consultant to functions and project teams to lead development and implementation of patient access programs and initiatives.
- Partner closely with other Patient Access teams (e.g Oncology) and provides support for other Patient Access mechanisms and initiatives as needed.
- Support audits and inspections related to Patient Access.
- Support and contribute to process enhancement initiatives.
Core Elements of the Role:
- Significant experience planning and executing expanded access/Compassionate use programs.
- Comprehensive knowledge of global regulatory requirements and guidance related to Patient Access.
- Ability to improvise and demonstrate creativity in solving problems and achieving objectives.
- Ability to analyze complex situations, make decisions and plan for the future.
- Comfortable with ambiguity and has the ability to work independently, take initiative and complete tasks in a timely manner.
- Ability to build strong relationships and collaborate effectively with other interfacing Takeda functions (e.g. Medical Affairs, Global Manufacturing Services, Ethics and Compliance).
- Excellent written and oral communications, presentation, networking and public relations skills.
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to simultaneously manage multiple competing tasks and demands.
- Experience in Project Management.
- Experience working with supply chain, vendors, and external organizations (including corporations, associations, non-governmental organizations, and academic institutions) relevant to the patient access and global healthcare.
- Experience working within a complex, global organization and demonstrated ability to work across functions and regions without direct authority.
- Strong proven ability to collaborate cross-functionally and build consensus.
- Proven ability to effectively manage teams, strong leadership skills.
- Experience contributing to cross-functional initiatives.
- Ability to influence and work effectively with various disciplines and functional areas.
Education, Behavioral Competencies, and Skills:
- PhD, PharmD with 8+years; MS with 12+ years; BS with 14+ years experience in the pharmaceutical industry; with experience or related experience in clinical research or expanded access in the pharmaceutical industry or CRO.
- Advanced degree in a health science field preferred (e.g. Nursing, Pharmacy, Public Health).
- Previous experience managing expanded access programs.
- People management experience required.
- Requires approximately 10% travel, including overnight and international travel to other Takeda sites and meetings with external partners.

USA - MA - Cambridge - Kendall Square - 500U.S. Base Salary Range:
$169,400.00 - $266,200.00The estimated salary range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual base salary offered may depend on a variety of factors, including the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.The actual base salary offered will be in accordance with state or local minimum wage requirements for the job location.
U.S. based employees may be eligible for short-term and/or long-termincentives. U.S.based employees may be eligible to participate in medical, dental, vision insurance, a 401(k) plan and company match, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, a tuition reimbursement program, paid volunteer time off, company holidays, and well-being benefits, among others. U.S.based employees are also eligible to receive, per calendar year, up to 80 hours of sick time, and new hires are eligible to accrue up to 120 hours of paid vacation.
