The Role:

This is an exciting opportunity to lead recruiting for our US and Global HQ Commercial and Medical Affairs organization and be an integral member of the Global Talent Acquisition team working to fuel a high-impact organization radically changing the biotech industry.

With 45 vaccine and therapeutic programs, 9 of which are in late-stage development, we are thrilled to bring in a dynamic and experienced biopharma talent sourcing partner. This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of Moderna at a critical inflection point. This role will be based in our Cambridge, MA HQ.

Reporting to the Sr. Director Talent Acquisition for Global Commercial & Medical Affairs, this Talent Advisor, Commercial & Medical requires a strategic thinker with a hands-on approach leading the recruiting and hiring process end-to-end. You will be a key advisor to senior leaders, influencing hiring decisions and strategies to drive operational excellence, and hiring against our Moderna Mindsets.

Driven by a deep understanding of the Moderna culture and Mindsets, the biopharmaceutical industry, its competitors, and overall market conditions, you will proactively partner with HR, Talent Acquisition Leaders, and business leaders to understand Modernas long-term workforce plans to develop robust, forward-thinking recruiting strategies to meet the needs of the business. You will act as an advisor, using market data analysis and industry research to inform recruiting strategies that enable future capability building, and influence stakeholders to act proactively regarding their current/future talent mix and talent market availability.

Heres What Youll Do:

  • Lead and deliver talent acquisition strategy and tactics for all US and Global HQ Commercial and Medical Affairs.
  • Responsible for the development and execution of recruiting strategies across our Commercial/Medical function, aligning with Senior Leaders and their teams objectives.
  • Be a senior member of the Talent Acquisition Team driving key priorities and objectives for the function.
  • Partner closely with Lead HR Business Partners (HRBP), Hiring Managers (HM), Leaders, and key stakeholders across the business.
  • Collaborate with Talent Discovery teams to develop proactive sourcing strategies and creative ways to attract talent to Moderna.
  • Serve as a model Talent Advisor, setting a high standard for best practices and leading with an innovative mindset.
  • Use data & technology to drive new ways of working within recruiting to maximize our hiring impact and value.
  • Actively participate in functional Workforce (WF) planning for in conjunction with leaders, HRBP, and Finance.
  • May operate as an individual contributor or manage a small team, depending on the needs of the organization.

Heres What Youll Bring to the Table:

  • Bachelors degree with at least 10 years of increasing responsibility within a corporate setting; experience within the biotech/pharma industry if preferred (in-house/corporate plus agency experience is acceptable).
  • Demonstrated track record of being a true talent advisor to senior leaders with in-depth recruiting and business acumen.
  • Curiosity to understand the business in order to provide a better experience across the recruiting lifecycle.
  • Expert skills in assessing talent.
  • A high drive for results. You set a high bar for yourself and others.
  • A natural ability to be organized in how you think, communicate, and conduct your work, leveraging data to tell a story.
  • A digital first mindset and learning agility to leverage new technology systems and tools, including expertise in Microsoft Office Suite, Applicant Tracking Systems, CRMs, and sourcing technologies.
  • A curiosity that allows you to constantly learn and challenge the status quo and embrace diversity of thought, background, and experience.
