Lets do this. Lets change the world. In this vital role you will lead contracting activities for Amgens Provider customers. The Senior Manager for Provider Contracts will lead a team of contract writers in the areas of general medicine, oncology, and biosimilars. Serve as a single point of contact in regard to contracting for both internal and external customers. This role reports to a Director of Provider Contracting.

Position Responsibilities/Accountabilities

The Senior Manager will be the main contact with Coverage and Pricing (C&P), Contracts and Pricing Execution (CPE), and Law to create, write and implement contract strategies that meet Amgen's business objectives. The Senior Manager is in charge of and accountable for their team to support the creation of contracts with product-specific pricing strategies as well as the improvement of our CLM system. Additionally, this person will collaborate with cross-functional teams to address pricing strategies, contract performance, and contract implementation needs. This role is remote, but some working hours during U.S. Pacific time zone are necessary.

  • Drafting and negotiating commercial pricing agreements and related documents.
  • Developing custom contract language specifically for new pricing strategies.
  • Collaborating with other departments on business unit strategies.
  • Leading and running the contract management process while interacting with cross-functional groups.
  • Researching and producing contract documents for audits and litigation.
  • Maintaining a comprehensive understanding of key customers.
  • Collaborating with Account Managers, Marketing, Finance, customers, Legal, and other teams to ensure contracts are executed in a timely manner.
  • Leading cross functional meetings bringing together all necessary stakeholders to ensure a compliant and timely end to end contracting process is followed
  • Supporting ad-hoc requests by senior leadership.
  • Developing or enhancing system requirements to support a robust, compliant and efficient contract lifecycle management process

Basic Qualifications:

Doctorate degree and 2 years of sales & marketing operations or pricing experience

Or

Masters degree and 4 years of sales & marketing operations or pricing experience

Or

Bachelors degree and 6 years of sales & marketing operations or pricing experience

Or

Associates degree and 10 years of sales & marketing operations or pricing experience

Or

High school diploma / GED and 12 years of sales & marketing operations or pricing experience

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Advanced degree (i.e. MBA or equivalent experience)
  • 4+ years of experience solving complex business problems and managing multiple projects concurrently
  • Pharmaceutical or Biotechnology experience
  • Demonstrated track record of increasing responsibility and leadership experience
  • Strong organizational skills and communication skills
  • Previous experience providing and delivering information for decision making by executive management
  • Ability to read, draft, edit and understand legal contract documents, ideally for Pharma
  • Deep understanding of the US commercial and government healthcare and reimbursement environment
  • Ability to manage and deliver results in a highly fluid, fast paced, interactive, matrixed environment
  • Pharmaceutical or Biotechnology experience
  • Technical skills
  • Ability to synthesize complex information, extract significant facts and communicate to broader team
  • Previous experience leading a contract development team.

The expected annual salary range for this role in the U.S. (excluding Puerto Rico) is posted. Actual salary will vary based on several factors including but not limited to, relevant skills, experience, and qualifications.
