Regeneron is seeking a motivated Sr. Associate Scientist in Tarrytown, NY to run our Serum Chemistry Core within the Obesity, Muscle and Metabolism group, which is committed to developing transformative medicines to treat obesity, metabolic, endocrine and muscle diseases. We are seeking a hardworking individual with expertise in using automated serum analyses, ELISA assays, and hematology assays to compare genetic variants and pharmacologic treatments.
Independent scientists with a strong drive to contribute to preclinical and clinical development programs for novel therapeutics are encouraged to apply. This role has potential to grow over time under someone who is creative and has a vision for developing and expanding the core services.
As a Sr. Associate Scientist running the Serum Chemistry Core, a typical day might include the following:
- Performing quantitative analyses of serum and plasma samples for large numbers of samples (96 and 384 format) for levels of proteins, lipids, and other serum components
- Developing and validating immunoassays to measure human, rodent, and non-human primates' metabolic biomarkers
- Analyzing and presenting large data sets with an understanding of the underlying endocrine and biological processes of the analyses
- Using Excel, GraphPad Prism, SigmaPlot, Softmax Pro, ELN, LIMS, and BSI database programs for careful maintenance of data and records

To be considered for the Sr. Associate Scientist role, you will have a Bachelors Degree (or foreign equivalent) in Biomedical Engineering, Biology, Chemistry, or a related field and 2 years of serum chemistry analysis experience. Hands-on experience with maintaining automated serum chemistry analyzers (ADVIA Chemistry XPT), hematology analyzers (Oxford Genesis, HemaVet) and other single and multiplex assays is strongly desirable.
