Amgen's Process Development (PD) organization is seeking a Senior Associate for the ATO Rapid Analytics (RA) group within Attribute Science (AS). The ATO RA group provides high throughput analytical testing services to support pipeline delivery across various therapeutic biologics in both Pre-Pivotal and Pivotal phases. The primary responsibility is to perform product quality analysis and provide analytical data to enable process decisions, collaborating with research scientists at multiple Amgen sites and working closely with other functional groups.

Analytical Testing:

  • Execute analytical testing within expected turnaround times for assays including Reduced Capillary Electrophoresis (rCE-SDS), Non-Reduced Capillary Electrophoresis (nrCE-SDS), cIEF, ATOLL, HPLC/UHPLC (SEC, CEX, Titer, and other LC-related testing).

  • Advance high throughput and automation technologies to support growing process development testing demand.

Documentation and Review:

  • Document and review results, maintain electronic laboratory notebooks.

  • Implement methods in ATO RA, analyze and interpret data.

Training and Communication:

  • Provide hands-on training to junior analysts and generate written reports as needed.

  • Communicate project updates and present scientific data in meetings.

Troubleshooting and Maintenance:

  • Solve technical problems with both instruments and assays.

  • Maintain instruments and follow labs general equipment cleaning protocols.

Basic Qualifications:

  • High school diploma / GED and 6 years of Scientific experience OR

  • Associates degree and 4 years of Scientific experience OR

  • Bachelors degree and 2 years of Scientific experience OR

  • Masters degree

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of high throughput technology and chromatography including HPLC, UPLC, and CE.

  • Experience with high throughput technology in Tecan, BioMek, and Hamilton Liquid handling technologies.

  • Solid Chromatography and Capillary Electrophoresis skills.

  • Strong analytical skills to interpret results.

  • Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to learn new technology quickly, multi-task, and adapt in a dynamic environment.

  • Positive attitude, strong self-motivation, and leadership capabilities.

The expected annual salary range for this role in the U.S. (excluding Puerto Rico) is posted. Actual salary will vary based on several factors including but not limited to, relevant skills, experience, and qualifications.
