The Associate Director, Medical Affairs Business Operations will lead several business functions within Global Medical Affairs (GMA). The employee will be collaborating cross functionally within medical affairs and other various internal collaborators across the organization such as Commercial Operations, Finance, Global Procurement, GMA Franchise Heads, and Legal/Compliance. This role will provide leadership, strategic direction and day-to-day coordination of operational activities within GMA. Additionally, this individual will lead key Global Medical Affairs activities across all Medical Franchises and Functional Areas aimed at driving process excellence. The Associate Director will oversee a team of business operations professionals and drive major business initiatives that deliver quality and efficiencies for Global Medical Affairs (GMA).
As an Associate Director, a typical day may include the following:
Oversee and provide direction to staff managing the HCP Fair Market value (FMV) process and compliance (including HCP credentialing operations, rate card updates, vendor management, tier and rate exception handling) in coordination with Legal/Compliance
Oversee and provide direction to staff managing Medical Review Committee (MRC), working closely with GMA Medical Directors and Commercial organization
Drive headcount planning & reporting working in partnership with Global Development Cost & Resource Management, Finance, HR Talent Management, others
In partnership with Finance, coordinate and drive finance and budgeting activities (monthly accruals, spend tracking and oversight, Finance/GMA meetings) across GMA in accordance to Finance deadlines and processes
In partnership with GMA groups, drive Medical Impact Planning process, timelines and scheduling of key MIP leadership presentations
Drive efficiency and excellence for Vendor Relations and Operations Management processes
Oversee operational business activities with meeting planning and logistics, working with CVENT system and Commercial Operations Meetings & Conventions group
Oversee and provide direction to staff managing Regeneron Speaker Program process within GMA, working closely with GMA Medical Associate Directors and the Commercial organization
Develops and manages relationships with relevant external vendors to support greater business need; Builds and maintains relationships within and outside of Regeneron, outside networks to bring in best in class programs, and/or ideas
Serve as SME interface to IT for related systems and outside vendors to ensure optimal performance, consistent reporting, and efficiency for the system
Proactively share project status, issue escalation, and resolution; schedule meetings to facilitate team discussions, decisions, issue resolution towards achieving project goals
Proven ability to influence and work successfully in a complex, global, matrix organization
You have supervisory experience and enjoy managing a team
Resourceful with the ability to effectively manage multiple workstreams and projects
Must be able to work in undefined, cross functional teams and determine goals, identify challenges and work to completion of project or program
High degree of analytical ability and conflict-resolution skills
To be considered for this role, you must have a Bachelors Degree with ( 7+ years experience) working in healthcare/pharmaceutical/ biotechnology field; PMP certification is highly desirable. Proficient in business systems. Able to identify new tools and resources to enhance business processes. We are seeking high level understanding of project management, quality assurance and system ownership. Ability to initiate and lead large, cross-function projects and see it through to completion. Strong communication and organizational skills with the ability to work in a flexible, multifaceted environment.
