Position Brand Description:
The Operations Associate (OA) is responsible for ensuring operational excellence and continuous improvement. The Operations Associate will primarily serve the manufacturing site process teams, as well as support the Flow Team. They will work closely with Operators, Process Team Leaders, Functional Managers, and Operations Supervisors to provide technical and operational support. This position will report directly to the Manufacturing Operations Sr. Director.
Key Objectives/Deliverables:
- Process Team Responsibilities:
- Serve as a key integrator of the cross-functional team to drive safety, quality, and continuous improvement as per the Manufacturing Standards for Operational Excellence and the House of Manufacturing.
- Work closely with the Process Team Leader to coordinate necessary resources to support operations and project work.
- Support process team leaders and operations leaders to ensure operations are conducted in a manner which is consistent with regulatory and business drivers. Ensure operations are conducted following all HSE and GMP requirements.
- Escalate issues to the appropriate management level when necessary.
- Work with functional leadership to organize, prioritize, and deliver on initiatives to drive continuous improvements.
- Lead Root Cause Analysis investigations for operations/human error deviations, as necessary.
- Leadership Support
- Stand in for Process Team Leader as a delegate where appropriate.
- Participate in Flow Teams.
- Assist with metrics tracking for process team and / or flow team.
- Participate in and help lead Lean initiatives to drive our safety, quality, and execution culture.
- Other Responsibilities
- Participate in or drive initiatives or special projects within the Flow Team.
- Participate in the business planning and budgeting process.
- Support and participate in internal and external regulatory inspections, as necessary.
- Act as user representative for campaigns and operational readiness activities taking place in the Flow.
Basic Requirements:
- Minimum B.S. in engineering or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum 3 years of applicable manufacturing-related experience, preferably some biosynthetic, fermentation, and/or purification operations experience.
Additional Preferences:
- Demonstrated skills in project management and coordination.
- Ability to communicate effectively to various audiences.
- Ability to influence and network with multiple levels and functions of the organization.
Other Information:
- No certifications required.
- Tasks require entering manufacturing areas which require wearing appropriate PPE.
