Our Corporate Financial Reporting (CFR) team is looking for a key contributor who will be responsible for our external reporting and assist in leading our financial controls organization. This position is a highly visible and collaborative role interacting with senior leadership and ultimately serving as the coordinator of our quarterly and annual reports for filing with the Securities & Exchange Commission (SEC). The position also serves as the financial controls expert and point person for North and Central Americas and Corporate Sarbanes-Oxley (SOx) processes.

Responsibilities:

  • SEC Reporting: Responsible for coordinating successful Form 10-K and Form 10-Q filings. Prepare portions of the annual report and quarterly filings, including earnings releases. Lead the adoption of newly enacted, and the evaluation of proposed changes to, FASB pronouncements or SEC rules related to disclosures in our Form 10-K and Form 10-Q filings. Lead the process for responding to SEC comment letters.
  • SOx Compliance: Lead regional and corporate SOx compliance efforts, including monitoring, consulting, training, and issue resolution. Ensure consistency and standardization of control activities and monitor completion of SOx requirements. Serve as lead for the SOx Steering Committee, a group which addresses ongoing SOx compliance and controls matters. Assist in the rollout of a new controls software solution in 2024, partnering with multiple business functions to optimize the use of the tool going forward.
  • Special Projects: Assist with technical accounting support and other special project work as identified.


Basic Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting or related field

  • CPA, Chartered Accountant, CPA eligible or equivalent

  • Minimum 3 years of work experience

  • Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to be employed in the United States. Lilly does not anticipate providing sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H-1B or TN status) for this employment position

Additional Skills/Preferences:

  • 3 or more years of public accounting or SEC reporting preparation
  • Prior experience with SOx 404 and internal controls
  • Strong project management and organizational skills
  • Strong leadership and teamwork

Additional Information:

  • Position will be located in Indianapolis and may require some flexibility due to business partners being located in different time zones. Some overtime is expected based upon business needs, especially during quarter and year-end closes
  • Minimal travel required
