National Sales Director, UPLIZNA

In this vital role you will be responsible for the continued growth of the UPLIZNA brand in Neuromyelitis Optica Spectrum Disorder (NMOSD), leading the sales team, and ensuring revenue goals are met and exceeded. The NSD will have a close working relationship with the brand marketing team in the development and execution of sales strategies and tactics. Additionally, the NSD is responsible for building, training, and maintaining a cohesive and effective sales team, setting vision and strategy specific to the unique business needs of the NMOSD market nationally, operating within budgetary guidelines, developing strong product advocates among key stakeholders, anticipating and uncovering business trends and needs throughout the nation and ensuring that the UPLIZNA sales organization are in compliance with all laws and regulatory guidance.
- Responsible for building a national strategy based on corporate business direction and expected to work closely with business unit leadership and brand marketing.
- Recruits, hires, trains and develops the sales managers on business and clinical proficiencies resulting in effective field sales management.
- Sets a positive tone and high standard for the UPLIZNA sales team in terms of work ethic, culture, expectations, and business ethics. Operates from a positive position of leadership.
- Leads UPLIZNA as a business to ensure market penetration and analyzes the market dynamics and sets goals to ensure that sales plans are achieved or exceeded.
- Manages operational expenses and program funding and does not exceed spending budget.
- Ensures that UPLIZNA sales team operates within regulatory guidelines in all aspects of promotion, program implementation, and product compliance.
- Ensures the sales team is trained and prepared to maximize business/sales potential, and that the product message is crisp, clear and consistently delivered with high impact.
- Develops internal and external customer relationships to successfully drive Horizons business objectives and that the sales team is seen as an industry leader in the NMOSD space.
- Applies new/innovative clinical and business technologies to enhance efficiency, expands knowledge base and refines skill building.
- Represents the organization at local, regional and national trade shows.
- Provides constructive input to regional and national sales meetings (content and objectives).
- Assesses competitive threats and takes appropriate action.
- Enforces Horizon work policies acting as a conduit to Human Resources (HR) and Compliance and Regulatory Functions.
- Works closely and effectively with cross-functional partners including Marketing, Sales Operations, Sales Training, Market Access, Patient Services, Patient Advocacy and Medical Affairs.
- Partner with sales training to develop and pull through necessary training within the NMOSD therapeutic area, as needed.
- Gather data around patient enrollments, benefits investigations (BIs) and shipments to support performance monitoring.
- Partner with marketing to deliver the needs of the sales team to address key market needs/messaging, which includes the development and management of the National Speakers Bureau.
- Further develop the KOL community by introducing Horizon to the community and managing existing relationships.
- Partner with Horizon patient services and site of care teams to ensure relationships are established/maintained throughout the country.
- Partner with the patient services leadership team to ensure successful pull-through and manage business expectations.
- Accountable to the growth of enrollments, active patients and shipments, while exceeding UPLIZNA sales goals.

The professional we seek is a person with these qualifications.
Basic Qualifications:Doctorate degree and 4 years of sales experience
OrMasters degree and 8 years of sales experience
OrBachelors degree and 10 years of sales experience
In addition to meeting at least one of the above requirements, you must have at least 4 years experience directly managing people and/or leadership experience leading teams, projects, programs, or directing the allocation or resources. Your managerial experience may run concurrently with the required technical experience referenced above
Preferred Qualifications:- 10+ years sales experience in pharma/biopharma.
- 5+ years sales leadership experience and demonstrated track record of success in buy and bill environment; experience in rare disease and Neurology (specifically Multiple Sclerosis and/or NMOSD).
- Thorough understanding of current pharmaceutical sales regulatory environment.
- Excellent strategic planning, development, and organization skills.
- Ability to quickly build effective relationships and navigate the organizational infrastructure in the NMOSD space.
- Employ data and research to support and grow the business.
- Requires approximately 50% travel, including some overnight and weekend commitments.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
- Professional, proactive demeanor.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

The expected annual salary range for this role in the U.S. (excluding Puerto Rico) is $234,870.00 to $287,064.00. Actual salary will vary based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant skills, experience, and qualifications.
