Job Details
Dyne Therapeutics is a clinical-stage muscle disease company focused on advancing innovative life-transforming therapeutics for people living with genetically driven diseases. Role Summary:
Dyne is seeking a talented and highly motivated Scientist in analytical chemistry/biochemistry to advance our therapeutics research and support our drug discovery programs. In this role the candidate will be responsible for developing and running analytical assays to identify, characterize and validate new disease targets and therapeutic candidates. The ideal candidate is an innovative and collaborative team player and an ambitious self-starter who enjoys working in a fast-paced team setting. a highly motivated individual with exceptional communication and collaboration skills. The qualified candidate will have the opportunity to build, contribute to, and expand our innovative platform technology and advance Dyne's mission of pioneering life-transforming therapies for patients with serious muscle diseases.
This role is based in Waltham, MA without the possibility of being remote.
Primary Responsibilities Include:
- Design, validate, execute, and analyze experiments using chromatography, mass spectroscopy, and other analytical techniques.
- Characterize proteins, small molecules, oligonucleotides, and conjugates being evaluated in proof of mechanism and proof of concept studies.
- Analysis, interpretation and communication of key data to stakeholders to drive go/no go decisions.
- Contribute to the discussions and planning of multiple cross-functional projects.
- Work effectively with other disciplines including biochemistry, mechanistic biology, and safety/toxicology to collectively build the preclinical data package to support therapeutic development.
- Prepare reports, protocols, and other documentation to support clinical development and manufacturing of lead therapeutic candidates.
- Contribute to building a positive, team-oriented culture.
Education and Skills Requirements:
- PhD in Biochemistry, Analytical Chemistry or related scientific discipline and 2+ years of hands-on experience or BSc/MSc with 7+ years of relevant industry experience is required.
- Strong hands-on experience working with analytical protein characterization techniques (UV, SDS-PAGE, cIEF, etc.) including chromatography (reversed-phase, ion exchange, size exclusion, etc.) and mass spectroscopy (top-down proteomics, peptide mapping).
- Experience with oligonucleotide and/or glycoproteomic characterization is a plus.
- Proven track record of developing and implementing robust and reproducible biochemical assays to drive successful drug discovery.
- Experience in providing scientific and technical leadership applied to novel assay development, advancing challenging drug discovery programs, and mentoring junior colleagues.
- Strong track record of scientific accomplishments with relevant publications and presentations.
- Understand published scientific literature outside of his/her immediate area of expertise and apply this understanding to drive innovation.
- Strong written and oral communication skills, organization, and multitasking, and working in a highly collaborative and cross-functional research environment.
