Director Global Ethics & Compliance Policies
We are seeking a Director Global Ethics & Compliance Policies, reporting to the Global Head Ethics & Compliance Policies, Office of Ethics & Compliance (OEC), to assist in enhancing Gilead´s Ethics & Healthcare Compliance Program.

The salary range for this position is: $205,700.00 - $266,200.00. Gilead considers a variety of factors when determining base compensation, including experience, qualifications, and geographic location. These considerations mean actual compensation will vary. This position may also be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, discretionary stock-based long-term incentives (eligibility may vary based on role), paid time off, and a benefits package. Benefits include company-sponsored medical, dental, vision, and life insurance plans*.

Director Global Ethics & Compliance Policies
We are seeking a Director Global Ethics & Compliance Policies, reporting to the Global Head Ethics & Compliance Policies, Office of Ethics & Compliance (OEC), to assist in enhancing Gilead´s Ethics & Healthcare Compliance Program.
Essential Duties and Job Functions
- Support the Global Head of Ethics & Compliance Policies in leading the company's efforts to develop, propagate, and operationalize ethics & healthcare compliance policies across the company and to ensure business activities comply with relevant laws, regulations, and ethical standards.
- Partner closely with business functions including Commercial, Medical Affairs, Public Affairs, Government Affairs, Finance and Clinical (amongst others), and other teams as part of the OEC and Legal organizations to address ethics & healthcare compliance policy-related issues.
- Contribute to the continued enhancement of a culture of integrity, supporting the company's Core Values.
Key responsibilities also include the following:
- Support Global Head Ethics & Compliance Policies in partnering with colleagues across the business functions, OEC and Legal to develop and align on a risk-based approach to ethics & healthcare compliance policy development and propagation.
- Draft and/or oversee the drafting of global ethics & healthcare compliance policies; recommend and/or decide upon global ethics & healthcare compliance policy positions; and respond to requests for policy interpretation.
- Carry out horizon scanning on changes in the external global ethics & healthcare compliance business environment and develop and implement policy enhancements to reflect the risks.
- Provide global ethics & compliance policy-related support to affiliates worldwide, on an as-needed basis.
- Lead on the internal transition of global and local ethics & healthcare compliance policies to a new document management system. Leverage technology to develop and implement innovative tools to enhance the effective communication of global and local policies.
- Actively participate as a Gilead representative in external industry association working groups, including IFPMA and EFPIA.

Knowledge, Experience and Skills
- Gilead is looking for an experienced ethics & compliance professional from the biotech and/or pharmaceutical industry with proven cultural adaptability across geographies.
- Ideally the successful candidate will have gained exposure to working within an organization with a US-based headquarters, as well as experience with operations in major markets worldwide.
- The candidate must have a strong background and exposure to compliance relate systems and transparency reporting requirements across the globe.
Detailed requirements include:
- 8+ years of relevant prior industry experience relating to drugs, devices, or food products.
- Experience in the biotechnology or pharmaceutical industries required, including extensive professional experience advising on anti-bribery laws, industry code requirements, and other ethics & compliance mandates.
- Juris doctor or equivalent preferred, but not required.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Substantive experience in the drafting of company ethics & compliance policies.
- Able to exercise judgment and propose courses of action where precedent may not exist.
- In-depth understanding of business objectives and how those translate into healthcare.
- compliance priorities to deliver advice and guidance to the business.
- Excellent interpersonal and influencing skills, an inquisitive mind, and the ability to work.
- effectively in a global, matrixed organization with multiple functions, together with a positive attitude and strong work ethic.
- Experience with systems and structures that facilitate an efficient and effective compliance program.
- Experience, confidence, resilience, and gravitas to work with senior Executives and able to establish rapport with key stakeholders and client.

- Managerial experience preferred.
