Manager, User Insights

Location

This role is based at the Gilead Sciences headquarters (Foster City, California).

Department Overview

Corporate Operations is a diverse, global organization that catalyzes Gilead's scientific ambitions, protects the company's people and properties, leads environmental sustainability strategy, ensures value and sourcing oversight and cultivates a diverse supplier base. Its functions includes those that focus on employee-facing amenities (transportation, fitness, cafes and events), campus infrastructure (scientific labs, modern workspaces, master planning), strategic spend (sourcing, supplier diversity and inclusion), safety and security (corporate security, crisis management, EH&S) and environmental sustainability (environmental programs, Scope 1, 2 & 3 emissions, ESG strategy and reporting).

Job Description

The Manager, User Insights will be responsible for developing and implementing user sentiment plans that produce insights into Corporate Operations' employee-facing programs, services and amenities. They will partner closely with Corporate Operations colleagues to identify the appropriate timing, outreach and approach for gathering and monitoring employee feedback. The user sentiment plans will generate actionable data and insights that will aid Corporate Operations in best supporting employees as they work towards the company's ambitions.

In addition, this individual will be a key member of the User Insights and Communications team, which contributes to Corporate Operations' success by taking a proactive approach to the organization's initiatives. A strong candidate will have a proven track record of collaborating with and influencing business partners, strong content development skills and experience creating and executing user sentiment plans.

Specific Responsibilities
  • Partner with Corporate Operations leaders on annual user insights plans
  • Create and curate avenues for employee feedback on Corporate Operations' programs and services
  • Analyze, synthesize and share insights with Corporate Operations' program leads. Responsible for ensuring insights are actionable and clearly represent the employee
  • Make recommendations about the implications of new or ongoing findings for employee-facing programs


Knowledge, Experience, and Skills
  • Bachelor's degree in business, communications, or related fields with 6+ years or Masters Degree with 4+ years of industry experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong project management capabilities
  • Demonstrated ability to work with, organize, and analyze data and develop insights (e.g., forming hypotheses, identifying issues, synthesizing conclusions)
  • A passion for listening and understanding stakeholders' needs
  • Experience developing executive presentations and status updates
  • Comfortable providing counsel to senior leaders
  • Strength in communicating and working effectively with partners across various roles
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams


The salary range for this position is: $129,540.00 - $167,640.00. Gilead considers a variety of factors when determining base compensation, including experience, qualifications, and geographic location. These considerations mean actual compensation will vary. This position may also be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, discretionary stock-based long-term incentives (eligibility may vary based on role), paid time off, and a benefits package. Benefits include company-sponsored medical, dental, vision, and life insurance plans*.
