In NC, we operate three pharmaceutical manufacturing facilities that are responsible for fulfilling different steps in our injectable and oral treatment supply chains.  Our legacy Injectable Finished Products (IFP) facility in Clayton, NC is a 457,000 square foot aseptic "fill and finish" site that is responsible for producing innovative, injectable diabetes and obesity treatments. Position Purpose

Responsible for the operation, maintenance, administration, & improvement of selected information systems & platforms.

 

Accountabilities

  • Responsible for local site IT Security Procedure Compliance
  • Follow all safety & environmental requirements in the performance of duties
  • Translates the needs & requirements of Novo Nordisk businesses & functions into IT solutions
  • Identifies IT gaps & recommends strategic technical solutions to meet those IT &/or business needs
  • Ensure that installation, troubleshooting, qualification & validation of equipment & systems meets objectives & requirements
  • Leads IT efforts as work package owner on site projects & leads internal & external IS Analysts working on projects
  • Provides mentoring & technical guidance to IS Analysts
  • Provides IT Governance for IT Infrastructure
  • Analyzes, plans, & audits the IT systems supported
  • Responsible for providing the Disaster Recovery Plan any new IT systems implemented
  • Annual Disaster Recovery Testing for any supported systems
  • Provide ad-hoc production support & after-hours support to the site
  • Other accountabilities, as assigned

 

Required Qualifications

  • BA/BS in information technology or related field with minimum five (5) years of related experience or ten (10) years of direct experience
  • Practical experience in implementing & administering infrastructure systems with more than 500 end users
  • Experienced professional in active directory, virtualization, storage, server administration, remote desktop services, networking, &/or disaster recovery
  • Certification in an infrastructure services, security, or networking discipline (e.g. MSCE, CNE, Security+)
  • Specific knowledge of Microsoft networking principles & concepts
  • Experience authoring IT proposals, requirements, & specifications

 

Desired Qualifications

  • Trouble-shoot, diagnose, resolve & document IT infrastructure systems
  • Create, implement, & ensure adherence to strategic IT solution strategies
  • Establish, enforce & maintain IT infrastructure policies & procedures
  • Operate infrastructure systems under FDA regulations & guidelines as they relate to computer-based information & automation systems
  • Coordinate computer system operation & administration tasks of multi-user computer & communications systems, including user security administration, training, backup, restoration, system software updates, performance monitoring, problem determination & resolution
  • Experience in backing up & restoring systems
  • Maintain infrastructure documentation in accordance with federal, corporate, & local requirements
  • Maintain & update the IT disaster recovery plan for supported systems
  • Perform life-cycle system development tasks for IT infrastructure
  • Provides IT infrastructure security governance
  • Assists management with coordinating & prioritizing activities of IT infrastructure team
  • Demonstrates leadership skills; act as project lead or work package owner & lead cross functional project teams in the development & implementation of programs
  • Knowledge of project management & the development life cycle required
  • Perform project implementation & management tasks, including needs assessment, market surveys, design specification development, system implementation & training for various information technology, telecommunication technology projects in accordance with established procedures
  • Assure all system documentation is up to date prior to rollout & compliant with requirements
  • Has the ability to influence others on objectives & projects outcomes
  • Establish & operate within IT infrastructure cost center & project budgets
  • Demonstrates superior written & oral communication skills
  • Develops & maintains strong internal relationships
  • Participate in corporate infrastructure guidance groups
  • Responsible for firewall security & remediation
  • Performs security risk assessments as required
  • Conducts vendor security assessments for new vendors per standard security procedures
  • Responsible for ensuring the security of the server rooms, IDFs, & IT labs
  • Performs audits via QAP on access control of administrative accounts
  • Identifies gaps with SLAs with external vendors/corporate
  • Works with system managers to identify gaps in SARBOX & GMP data protection
  • Strategic IT planning, IT project management, IT systems analysis (requirement gathering, cost/benefit proposal generation), software & hardware life cycle methodologies, software quality assurance, system specification development, analytical problem solving (SPC, TQM), critical FDA computer system requirements (21CFRPart 11), computer internetworking, configuration management & control, information system security principles

 

Physical & Other Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds
  • Ability to work in confined spaces & near operation equipment
  • Ability to work in moderate to loud noise environments
  • Ability to work hours necessary to support production & maintenance activities
  • Interface with all departments to obtain/relay information
  • Develop contacts with outside vendors & contractors
  • Ability to travel domestically, as requested (up to 20% travel)
