Job Details
The Target Identification Group is a team of specialty scientists that collaborate with Therapeutic Focus Areas to identify new drug targets, technologies and provide in depth analysis of various disease mechanisms. We are seeking a motivated, curious, and communicative scientist with experience in immunology and infectious diseases to support company’s investigations of new antibody and technology-based therapies. In this role, the ideal candidate will utilize their expertise to evaluate protein targets- gene expression, protein structure/function, and biological/medical relevance. Investigations include searching of the scientific literature and proprietary databases, mining of large data sets directed to understanding the molecular basis of human disease.
As a Senior Scientist, a typical day might include:
Reviewing and identifying targets, opportunities, and potential strategies for drug development
Participating in complex biological evaluations, detailed genomic database and literature reviews
Preparing and presenting summaries, and recommendations to research teams and management
Delivering in a timely fashion, a balanced synopsis for each topic which may require consultations with subject-matter experts
Contributing to knowledge base resources and facilitate sharing and leveraging of program review information

You have an interest to mine gene, protein, patent and proprietary databases
To be considered for this role, you must possess a Ph.D. or Pharm.D. A background in immunology and/or infectious disease is required. A minimum of three (3) years postdoctoral experience is highly desirable. Strong publication record is a big plus. Experience working with cross-functional teams; Database mining/ bioinformatics; Antibody/ recombinant protein therapeutics experience is required. You must have the ability to identify key information sources and analyze public literature.
