Purpose:

Describe the primary goals, objectives or functions or outputs of this position.

This role (part of AbbVie Patient Services) will be responsible for aligning patient services data operations and strategy across Access, Patient Engagement, Marketing, Copay and other functions, and will bridge the skill gap, such as governance, across the functions. The role will translate the strategic business priorities into data and operations solutions.  The role also manages a team that provides validated and consumable patient services data for reporting, operational analytics, performance analytics and investment allocation use cases, including data science support for AbbVie Digital lab use cases. In addition, the role will contribute by considering Data as a strategic asset, build strategic and operational roadmap for Data & Analytics capabilities and execute development of Data capabilities in pragmatic fashion, without diluting the strategic intent. 

 

Responsibilities:

List up to 10 main responsibilities for the job. Include information about the accountability and scope.

•Contribute to planning and drive execution of establishing a roadmap and vision for patient services data delivery and management, including the enterprise data warehouse, big data, BI & analytics, content management and data management

•Assure strategic alignment and synergy across Patient Services functions (including vendors), MABI, BTS organizations on data strategy and activities.  Advise on the strategy cross-functionally – where implementation and execution is federated. Create ways to share and use data across various functional groups

•Execution responsibilities for Commercial Patient services data initiatives. Working with RWD governance and Commercial organization MABI, identify and prioritize BTS data initiatives to execute over Data Lake infrastructure

•Apply business strategy while driving data and technology strategy, balancing short term and long term needs to ensure that the architecture and capabilities can scale and evolve accordingly

•Contribute to developing the vision around design and management of data as it pertains to the business strategy and establish processes for governing the identification, collection and use of patient services metadata; take steps to assure metadata accuracy and validity

•Own the full lifecycle of data discovery: identify needs and opportunities, find and vet data sources, negotiate costs, and manage vendor relationships.  Pioneer ‘data creation’ where gaps exist by leveraging common platforms for Patient Services execution including patient engagement, marketing execution and access programs.

•Develop roadmap for democratization of data assets across Patient Services and US Commercial. Evaluate and implement solutions such as Data catalog and Data Marketplace.  Champion utilization of business intelligence technology across patient services functions. Lead & develop enterprise approach to operational analytics, data visualization, analysis & modelling. Develop recommendations to better leverage existing AbbVie data ecosystem

•Establish a common data and contracting framework for data co-creation initiatives.  Establish AbbVie’s core position on patient data policies and identify ways to leverage data in AbbVie’s strategic imperatives

•Explore the evolving landscape of predictive modelling and exploratory analytics in Commercial initiatives across Payor, Provider , Consumer and Patient continuum and develop capabilities to support initiatives that optimize patient services execution and performance, optimize resource allocation across marketing initiatives, create personalized experiences for patients, and  develop exceptional value propositions.

•Oversee the hiring and training of new and existing staff, conduct performance reviews and provide leadership, technical guidance and coaching to staff. Build organizational talent by creating a learning environment that ensures employees realize their highest potential.

 


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree with 15 years’ experience; Master's Degree with 12 years’ experience; PhD with 10 years’ experience preferred.

•Bachelor’s or Master’s degree from an accredited college or university.

•Experience in data warehousing, big data, Information management solutions and end-to-end development life-cycle support and SDLC processes. Pharmaceutical Data management experience in Commercial data & analytics, Real World Evidence (RWE) Real World data (RWD) and analytics is desirable.

•Proven delivery history in Data Management Programs. Broad knowledge of Data technologies and processes; Cloud, Unstructured, Big Data, MDM, Data Quality, Batch Cycles/ETL. Excellent understanding of Data warehousing architecture and technology, with delivery focus

•Demonstrated experience with predictive modelling initiatives, and Big data/Hadoop/Cloudera initiatives

•Strong analytical and problem resolution skills.

•Superb interpersonal and organizational skills. Outstanding communication skills, both spoken and written.  Solid relationship management skills; Work collaboratively within a team environment.

•Detail oriented, versatile, and hard-working.  Strong capacity to follow through, work independently and deliver a consistently high level of service.  Ability to juggle projects and prioritize accordingly.

•Lead technical teams in a matrix environment. Demonstrated ability to coordinate cross-functional teams towards task completion.  Ability to communicate with architects regarding technical design trade-offs including platforms, frameworks, scalability, and performance

•Experience with Pharmaceutical and life sciences companies in similar roles managing data strategy for commercial, RWD/RWE and Payor Analytics IT systems and processes is an added advantage

•Experience driving through change to processes and ways of working and developing data product in an agile/iterative fashion

•Experience in big technology firms with extensive experience building data warehouses and reporting for large operations functions will also be considered.
